How to Get From CDG Airport to Paris?

Paris CDG Airport, also called ‘Roissy’, is located 23 km Northeast of Paris (Porte de la chapelle), mainly in the communal area of Roissy. It is the first French airport due to its importance, and is divided into 3 terminals.
Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle is 1h away from Paris. There are several ways to get there, more or less practical depending on your schedule, your amount of luggage and your departure site.

Besides the fact that many means offer a cheap solution, which means of transportation shows the biggest assets?

 

    • Bus RATP

Roissy bus: The Roissy bus ensures a connection departing from Opéra towards all Roissy CDG terminals (except 2G terminal). The bus frequency is 15-20 min during daytime and 30 min after 10 pm. Travel time is roughly 1h for a price of €11.

Bus N° 350 and 351: it is the cheapest but also the longest option.
Bus 350 leaves from Gare de l’Est and drops you off at the Roissy Pole Train Station or the Terminal 2 (2A, B, C and D).
Bus 351 leaves from Place de la Nation.
The bus frequency is 15 to 30 min depending on the time, available from 5h45 am to 11 pm. Travel time is minimum 75 MN for a price of €6.

Bus Noctilien: The Noctilien Network (night bus) operates from 0h30 to 5h30 am.
Buses 140 and 143 connect Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (only terminals 1, 3 and the TGV station).
Travel time is 60 min, ticket price is €7.60.

 

    • Bus Direct - Air France

Line N° 2: Bus line 2 goes to Roissy Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) from Porte Maillot or Trocadéro. Ticket price is €17 for an approximated 60 minute travel.

Line N° 3: Bus line 3 goes to Roissy Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) from Paris Orly Airport (Western and Southern Terminals). Ticket price is €21 for a travel time of 80 – 90 mn depending on traffic.

Line N° 4: Bus line 4 goes to Roissy Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) from Gare de Lyon and Gare Montparnasse. Ticket price is €17 for a 60 min travel.

 

    • EasyBus

The low-cost EasyJet enterprise also offers, starting from May 2015, a shared shuttles service (EasyBus) connecting Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport to downtown Paris (Palais Royal/Louvre).
Ticket price varies from €7 to €10 for a 60 min travel.

 

    • Train

RER B: Train connection (RER B) between Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport and Paris: Denfert-Rochereau, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, Gare du Nord.
Travel time is 35 MN, ticket price is €10.


    • Taxi

Taking a cab is a rather efficient means, specifically if you travel by group.

 

Taxi stations are found in front of the terminals:

 

  • Terminal 1 : Door 24 (Arrivals floor)
  • Terminal 2 A-B-C-D: Door 7
  • Terminal 2 E-F: Door 10
  • Terminal 2 G and terminal 3: in front of the terminal.

Taxi prices are higher at night from 7 pm to 7 am, on Sundays and during public holidays.

 

Beware of clandestine taxis in Roissy, who work illegally and without license.

 

    • Motor Bike Taxi

The motor bike taxi is a very practical means to get to the airport for those traveling alone and without cumbersome baggage, a lone carry-on baggage is tolerated and this means helps save time in traffic jams. You have to book them in advance, prices vary between €75 and €90.
